1. Celebrate at Hometown Christmas

Make Saturday, December 5, a downtown day out. The City of Rockwall’s Hometown Christmas includes a morning parade, holiday activities downtown, and an evening tree-lighting celebration. It’s a festive way for kids to soak up the season with the community.

2. See a live nativity at Evening in Bethlehem

On December 4 and 5, Ridgeview Church hosts a free drive-through nativity from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. Families can follow a narrated route past live scenes and animals. See the event details for location and what to expect.

3. Make a theater night of Elf Jr.

Rockwall Acting’s 2026 winter musical, Elf Jr., brings Buddy’s holiday adventure to the Terry Martin Mainstage at The Addison Performing Arts Centre. Performances are December 11–13: Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 2 and 7 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. The cast ranges from ages 5–18, with direction by Tiffany Woodward and music direction by Ashley Williams. It’s a great pick for a family outing, and an inspiring glimpse of what young performers can do.

4. Try a musical theater class

5. Explore acting for stage or screen

Kids can build character and scene-work skills in acting classes, or explore camera presence and on-screen performance in TV & film acting. Rockwall Acting’s current schedule also lists high school acting and college-prep options.

6. Give improv a go

Improv isn’t just about comedy. It’s also practice in listening, collaboration, confidence, and quick thinking. Rockwall Acting offers improv classes for different ages, with a supportive space to try ideas and respond in the moment.

7. Find a new rhythm with dance

Broadway tap and Broadway ballet & jazz help kids build musicality, coordination, and stage presence. For one-to-one support, ask about private voice and dance lessons.
