STUDIO POLICIES
- Expectations
- We expect students, teachers, and parents to respect each other, respect the space, and respect the work. Rockwall Acting LLC reserves the right to ask anyone to leave if they are not behaving in the best interest of the studio, the students, our teachers or our staff.
- Registration, Tuition & Payment
- Upon enrollment, the ‘First Month’s Tuition’ and registration fee are due. Classes run mid-August through May and tuition is spread evenly over this time to account for vacation and holiday closures. Summer programs are offered in June and July. Private voice, acting, and dance are year round programs. Some months will have more weeks (or specific week days) than other months, but the cost for a month with 5 weeks is the same as the cost for a month with 3 weeks because of our pre-planned annual calendar. The ‘First Month’s Tuition’ tuition and registration fees are non-refundable. Online enrollment is available for all classes.
- Class & Program Offerings
- If at any time the class enrollment is too small, Rockwall Acting LLC reserves the right to cancel or combine that class with another appropriate class. Any discounts on tuition that may be provided can NOT be “stacked” or combined and will be administered solely at the discretion of the studio owner. This may include first time show, triple threat, enrollment promotion (available to new studio members only), or family/sibling (starting after the 3rd student). Family discounts are only for classes and do not apply to productions, workshops, costumes, private lessons, or travel. You can find detailed information on how to enroll in classes, how our tuition system works, class pricing, refund policies, and our policies regarding payment by clicking here. A processing surcharge of 3% will be added to all payments. There is an annual facility enrollment fee every August. A fee will be charged for all charge backs and for bounced checks to cover our costs associated with a charge back. The studio reserves the right to charge interest and collection fees for outstanding balances.
- Auto Pay Tuition
- All families must be enrolled in our Auto Pay System online and automatically receive discounted tuitition based on the autopayment. Your credit card/bank account will be charged at the beginning of the month and you will not have to worry about dropping off payment or late fees. This allows us to focus on instruction, artistic directing, planning, and producing. It saves time, money, and energy for everyone. Should you need to drop, your credit card will be removed from the system. Please see our policies regarding tuition and dropping classes. Any family choosing not to have a recurring payment method on file will not receive the automatic autopay discount reflected already in class rates ($5 per month per class) for the duration of studio enrollment or until a recurring payment method is made available and this discount provided will be added to the accounts as an additional charge.
- Attendance & Drop Policy
- Attendance is taken in each class. Good attendance is expected of our students as absences not only affect the student’s development, but they can hold back the entire class. There are no make-ups, refunds, credits or pro-rated tuition for missed classes. If you attend or are scheduled to attend a portion of the month, you are responsible for the full monthly tuition. Enrollment is year-long and our curriculum is structured as such. If for any reason you need to drop class before the end of the year, please notify the office in writing with 30 days prior to the first of the following month to avoid being charged the following month’s tuition. All fees or other expected charges will be assessed prior to cancellation and you will be responsible for those charges that may be necessary due to the studio calendar spreading charges over the session. Shows and performance enrollments may not be canceled once enrolled and you will be responsible for all show/performance related charges.
- Class Observation & Student Dropoff/Pickup
- During the first week of classes each month, parents are welcome to come to the last 15 minutes of class to observe. Observing inside the classroom at any other time is not allowed. Our studio is an intimate space. We do not have a lounge area for parents. We do have a student waiting area where students may wait for their class to begin or wait for their ride to pick them up. Students are required to check with a teacher before leaving the studio. If you arrange for an alternate carpool, please have the student inform the teacher at the beginning of class as a courtesy to the studio. Your child’s safety is extremely important to us. For students under the age of 12, parents will need to come inside of the studio to pick up your child. If there is anyone your child is not allowed to go home with, please notify the studio in writing and confirm receipt of your message. We will work out a special protocol in these situations for your child’s safety.
- Office Hours & Teacher Conferences
- If you have questions about your child’s progress or performance, please contact your studio. If further discussion is needed, please reach out to the office and make an appointment with your child’s teacher. During class hours, the studio is not available for administrative assistance. Our teachers are willing to discuss your child’s progress with you. However, during class or in-between classes is not the appropriate time. Please contact us if you would like to discuss your child’s progress or if you have any questions and we will be happy to speak with you when we can give you our full attention.
- Closures for Bad Weather & Holidays
- The studio will not necessarily close for bad weather but will often mirror the local school district. Many times the roads are safe by the afternoon. If in doubt, check the website. We will post whether class will be cancelled or not by 2:30pm. We do not prorate for bad weather. If class must be cancelled due to bad weather, a make-up class will be scheduled at the discretion of the studio. Multiple bad weather days may not be made up if they are excessive. Rockwall Acting LLC, in general, is closed for holidays and school breaks. The calendar outlining these breaks is available on our website : **We do not prorate for holidays as we are based on a 36-week schedule with a tuition that is spread evenly over this period. The studio will be closed on: Labor Day, Thanksgiving Week, Winter break (Approximately 3 weeks), Local ISD Spring Break. We may adjust these dates as we deem necessary.
- Private Instruction Make-up Policy

Should you miss a private lesson without notice, or if you notify the studio the day of your lesson, you will be charged for your private lesson. If you give your teacher at least 24 hrs notice, your lesson will be re-scheduled and made up. Only 3 lessons per semester will be eligible for a make-up.Instructors may need to cancel the day of due to unforeseen circumstances (auditions, rehearsals, etc…). Should that happen, the instructor will either provide a substitute teacher or make every effort to make up your lesson within the semester.
