Summer is officially here in Rockwall! If you’re looking for a way to keep your kids engaged, creative, and building confidence while school is out, you’ve come to the right place. At Rockwall Acting, our 2026 summer lineup is bigger than ever.

Whether your child is a seasoned performer or a total beginner, here are 10 things you need to know about what’s happening at the studio this season.

1. Sound of Music Jr. Status

Our main stage production this summer is the timeless classic, The Sound of Music Jr. While our priority audition deadline was June 1st, we are currently finalizing our ensemble and lead replacements. If your child missed the cutoff but is dying to be a part of the Von Trapp family, contact us today to see if any spots remain or to join our Sound of Music Jr. intensive.

2. Weekly Themed Camps for Every Interest

We have a rotation of weekly camps featuring the stories kids love most. From Moana and Peter Pan to The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Wizard of Oz, and Frozen, there is a magical world for every age group. You can view the full schedule and sign up for 2026 summer camps here.

3. Summer Intensives: Improv and Beyond

For students who want to dive deeper, our Summer Intensives are the perfect fit. Our Improv Intensive helps kids think on their feet, while our Film & TV Intensive focuses on commercial work: teaching them how to navigate the professional world of acting on camera.

4. Science-Backed Confidence Building

Did you know that theater isn't just about fun? According to the American Camp Association, 92% of campers say that summer programs helped them feel good about themselves. Our classes are designed to build "mastery experiences" that boost long-term self-esteem and social flexibility.

5. Audition Tips for Success

Auditions can be scary, but they don't have to be! We teach our students to focus on "the 3 C's": Confidence, Character, and Connection. We help kids prepare their 16-bar cuts and monologues so they walk into every room feeling like a pro. Check out our audition submission guide for more tips.

6. Private Lessons are Still Open

Looking for a more tailored experience? We offer summer privates in Acting, Dance, and Voice. These are perfect for working on specific goals or preparing for upcoming school theater auditions.

7. Industry Professional Instructors

Your kids aren't just learning from "camp counselors." At Rockwall Acting, our instructors are working industry professionals with real stage and screen experience. They bring a level of expertise that helps students understand what it really takes to perform.

8. Developing Better Communication

Research highlights that performing arts camps help children articulate their ideas and listen actively, which are essential life skills beyond the stage. Our ensemble-based work ensures every child learns to collaborate effectively.

9. The Disney World Trip

Don't forget! Our students have the unique opportunity to participate in our annual Disney World trip. This is a dream experience where our performers get to showcase their skills in a world-class environment.
