School is finally out, and the stage is set for an epic summer in Rockwall, TX! If you are looking for things for kids in rockwall, there is no better way to build confidence and make lifelong friends than through the magic of performance. At Rockwall Acting, we are kicking off a summer full of music, dance, and storytelling that your kids will never forget.
While our Moana camp just wrapped up a tropical week of fun, the curtain is just rising on the rest of our season. Whether your child is a seasoned pro or trying acting classes for the first time, we have a camp that will let them shine.
Summer Camp Lineup: Which Story Will Your Child Tell?
Our weekly summer camps are designed for ages 6-12 and focus on foundational skills, theater games, and a big performance every Friday!
- Peter Pan (June 8–12): Next week, we’re heading to Neverland! It’s not too late to join Peter, Wendy, and Tinkerbell for a week of high-flying imagination.
- The Lion King (June 22–26): Join Simba on a safari as we explore the Pride Lands with iconic music and choreography.
- The Little Mermaid (July 6–10): We’re going "Under the Sea" with Ariel and friends. This camp is a favorite for students who love vibrant sets and catchy tunes.
- The Wizard of Oz (July 13–17): Follow the Yellow Brick Road into Munchkin Land and the Emerald City.
- Frozen (July 27–31): Journey to Arendelle with Anna and Elsa for a week of chilly fun and powerful vocals.
- Kid’s Choice Camp (August 3–7): The ultimate finale! Students vote on their favorite musical selections to perform.

More Than Just Fun: The Benefits of Theater
Did you know that musical theater does more than just entertain? Research shows that performing arts education has a massive impact on child development.
- Empathy and Social Skills: A study by the University of Arkansas found that students who participate in or attend theater show significant gains in tolerance and the ability to interpret others' emotions.
- Academic Achievement: According to the Arts Education Partnership, learning in drama and music is linked to higher verbal and math skills.
- Confidence: Performing on stage helps kids manage anxiety and build self-assurance. Experts at Child Trends note that these programs enhance social competence and teamwork.
