Summer in Rockwall is officially here, and if you’re looking for a way to keep your kids active, creative, and off their screens, you’ve come to the right place! At Rockwall Acting, we transform the summer break into a season of spotlight moments.
Whether your child is a seasoned performer or a shy beginner, our Weekly Summer Camps offer something magical for everyone. Here are 10 things you should know about our programs!
1. We Have a Theme for Every Fan
From the ocean with Moana Jr. to the icy kingdom of Frozen, our weekly camps are themed around the stories kids love most. We also dive into classics like Peter Pan, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, and The Wizard of Oz.
2. It’s a Massive Confidence Booster
Performing isn't just about the applause; it's about the growth. According to the American Alliance for Theatre and Education (AATE), students involved in drama often see improved self-esteem and confidence that carries over into their school life (source).

3. Professional Industry Mentors
Our instructors aren't just teachers; they are industry professionals with real-world experience. They are passionate about sharing their knowledge and helping your kids find their unique voices.
4. Beyond Just Singing and Dancing
While we love a good high-kick, we also focus on the "Triple Threat" skills. If your child wants to specialize, we offer Summer Intensives in Improv and Film & TV Acting, focusing on commercial work.
5. Social Skills and Teamwork
Putting on a show requires a village. Research from the American Camp Association (ACA) shows that arts-based camps help children develop vital social skills and higher life satisfaction through collaborative projects (source).
6. The "Sound of Music" Magic
While our June 1st audition deadline for The Sound of Music Jr. has passed, keep an eye on our news page for updates on the production and how you can come support our local Rockwall talent!

7. Private Lessons are Available
Summer is the perfect time to level up. We offer private voice, acting, and dance lessons to give your child that one-on-one attention they need to shine.
8. Academic Gains in the Off-Season
Believe it or not, theater helps with reading! Memorizing scripts and interpreting characters strengthens vocabulary and critical thinking, which helps prevent the "summer slide" (source).
9. Flexible Weekly Scheduling
We know summer is busy. Our camps run in weekly blocks, making it easy to fit theater into your vacation schedule.
10. A Final Performance to Remember
Every week ends with a showcase. There is nothing quite like the look on a parent's face when they see their child confidently owning the stage for the first time.
